Mental health and physical health are closely connected. Mental health plays an important role in a person’s ability to maintain good physical health. Patients undergoing both depression and physical health problems are a major risk. The physical health problem can complicate the assessment and treatment of depression by hiding or imitating its symptoms. It could work the other way also. People with any prevailing physical health disease may tend to feel more psychological distress than healthy people may do.
