Health transformation with the Vedique Diet Programme success story- Roma Kumari

One of our patients, Roma Kumari, very tall and strong, always had a large frame. Although she had always been on the heavier side, she put on a lot of weight after giving birth to her child. She tried to lose the baby weight on her own for a good nine years, mainly through exercise and a few dietary changes, but it was never successful. Whatever weight she did lose, she would quickly gain it back.

Roma found out that she had reached 79 kg and was at risk for diabetes during an annual health check-up conducted by her employer. “It was a wake-up call for me to realise that I could be facing serious health issues in the near future. Particularly when the doctor told me I was a pre-diabetic and strongly advised me to lose weight and control my blood sugar levels,” she recalls.

“I had never been to a dietician, and most people I know who had taken professional help quickly gained back the weight they had lost. So, I wanted to join someone who could make me lose weight sustainably and control my blood sugar levels naturally. “My diet plan was not restricted to only controlling blood sugar levels but to working holistically on my body for better health in the long run . As I understood, the diet plan by my dietician Divnani Kaur included – foods high in protein (eggs, nuts and seeds, pulses,chickpeas,etc) necessary vitamins(VitC, B,A, K found in fruits and vegetables), minerals (like zinc, magnesium, selenium, iron etc,), fibre (fruits and vegetables like kiwi, oranges, papaya and spinach, karela, lettuce, broccoli, cucumber, respectively) and healthy fats (like peanut butter, olive oil, A2 ghee, avocado, etc). She planned to avoid- sugary drinks, starchy vegetables, sweets, sugary drinks, sweet tea, etc that helps bring my blood sugar levels under control.”

“As per my daily diet plan – I used to drink Lukewarm water (lemon) first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. My favourite breakfast was the fruit Carrot Beetroot Juice with moong dal dhokla. I loved having Steamed Brown Rice Idli with mint Chutney and green salad for lunch. Green tea with some roasted peanuts for my afternoon tea was a staple. For dinner, my favourite meals were chana palak Tikkis and sauteed broccoli.”

“Lastly, to end my routine, I was suggested to take Triphala herb which would help me maintain a healthy weight and control my blood sugar level. The team also took care of my daily physical activities and exercise routine.”
