The only way to recognise that whether you are suffering from it or not is by doing regular follow up with the doctor and regular blood sugar tests.
ONCE YOU ARE DIAGNOSED, YOU HAVE HAVE TO CUT DOWN ON ALL CARBOHYDRATES
This is not true. You must have carbohydrates, as they are the only source to provide energy to the body and to the brain. You just need to choose them carefully like instead of taking refined carbohydrates you can opt for whole grain, oats, whole wheat flour, daliya, jowar, ragi, bajra, kuttu all of which release sugar slowly in the body. So helps in maintaining your blood glucose levels.

Slim people have fewer chances of developing diabetes but this does not mean that they can never develop it as there are other factors also which leads to diabetes such as heredity, smoking, poor sleep, alcohol, lack of exercise.

This is totally untrue. There are many food products which by inculcating in the diet helps in regulating your blood glucose level such as fish, cinnamon powder, wheat grass juice, methi dana (fenugreek seeds) and paneer doda.
DIABETES IS AN INDIVIDUAL CONDITION, IT CANNOT LEAD TO OTHER PROBLEMS
Unfortunately, it can be the kick-off point for other ill health conditions, such as heart disease, erectile dysfunction, sleep apnea, kidney function disorder, eye problems and so on, as slowly it aggravates all doshas and causes above health condition.
IT’S NOT SAFE FOR DIABETICS TO EXERCISE

Exercise helps in increasing your insulin production in the body and helps tissue to absorb insulin for the digestion of the glucose produced by food in the bloodstream. Diabetes being Kapha disease- metabolism tends to slow down affecting overall health. regular exercise helps maintain a good metabolism.
