ONCE YOU ARE DIAGNOSED, YOU HAVE HAVE TO CUT DOWN ON ALL CARBOHYDRATES

This is not true. You must have carbohydrates, as they are the only source to provide energy to the body and to the brain. You just need to choose them carefully like instead of taking refined carbohydrates you can opt for whole grain, oats, whole wheat flour, daliya, jowar, ragi, bajra, kuttu all of which release sugar slowly in the body. So helps in maintaining your blood glucose levels.

MYTH 3

SLIM PEOPLE DON’T HAVE DIABETES

Slim people have fewer chances of developing diabetes but this does not mean that they can never develop it as there are other factors also which leads to diabetes such as heredity, smoking, poor sleep, alcohol, lack of exercise.

MYTH 4

THERE IS NO WAY TO REGULATE YOUR SUGAR LEVEL EXCEPT BY AVOIDING SUGAR

This is totally untrue. There are many food products which by inculcating in the diet helps in regulating your blood glucose level such as fish, cinnamon powder, wheat grass juice, methi dana (fenugreek seeds) and paneer doda.

IT’S NOT SAFE FOR DIABETICS TO EXERCISE

Actually, exercise help people with diabetes in maintaining blood sugar level. Exercise helps in increasing your insulin production in the body and helps tissue to absorb insulin for the digestion of the glucose produced by food in the bloodstream.
