As the world comes to the realization that COVID19 is here to stay, because of no early tapering off of the disease, we would have to shape our lives around preventive measures like social distancing, wearing mask, hands hygiene, sanitisation and a collective effort to avoid the spread of the disease by enhancing our immune system.
Our immune system is the body's basic defence against the infections, and it comes in two parts-
The first is known as the innate immune response which includes the release of chemicals that cause inflammation and white blood cells that can destroy infected cells. It is always ready to go and leaps into action as soon as any foreign invader is detected in the body.
The second is adaptive immune response which includes cells that produce targeted antibodies that can stick to the virus to stop it and T cells which can attack just the infected cells with the virus. If we have a stronger immune system, it will start making antibodies that can target the coronavirus and the sickest patients can develop the strongest immune response.
Dissolve 3gm powder (comprising all ingredients) in 150ml hot boiled water. You can add gud or gur (jaggery)/ fresh lemon juice to your decoction and consume it once or twice a day before meals.
TULSI- Tulsi leaves extract increases the T helper cells activity and enhances the overall immunity of a person.
KUTKI- Kutki have immunostimulant and anti-viral properties.
GILOY- Powerhouse of antioxidants which helps remove toxins, purifies blood, fights bacteria that causes disease and is also antipyretic in nature.
ASHWAGANDHA- Is a powerful adaptogen so it improves the body's defence against disease by improving the cell-mediated immunity.
TRIKATU- It is a blend of Black Pepper , Long Pepper , and Saunth(dry ginger) helps in getting rid of excess mucus from the respiratory tract.
TURMERIC FORMULA- It contains Curcumin a phyto-derivative, which is a immuno-modulator.
Half teaspoon haldi (turmeric) powder in a glass of hot milk at bedtime.
Apply 2-2 drops of sesame oil/mustard oil/ghee in both the nostrils morning and night.
Swiss 1tsp of coconut oil/ sesame oil in mouth for 2-3 minutes and spit it off followed by warm water rinse.
Boil 1 small piece of ginger, 3-4 leaves of mint, 1gm camphor ,1gm carom seeds (ajwain), 1-2 black pepper in a pint of water. Turn off the stove, put a towel over your head, and inhale the steam daily or atleast once in a week if asymptomatic.
Take a few fresh tulsi leaves (6-7), 2 cloves minced, half inch ginger grated and 1 tbsp fennel seeds boil it in a glass of water reduce it to half cup and have it empty stomach in the morning.
Mix equal parts of giloy juice, amla juice, aloe vera juice and wheatgrass juice (1:1:1:1) with 4 parts of water and have it empty stomach.
Recovery time is half a day. (Steam inhaling), vitamin C. Usually no fever. Asymptomatic.
Sore throat, recovery time 1 day (hot water gargle, warm water to drink, if temp then paracetamol. Vitamin C, B Complex. If severe than antibiotic.
Coughing and breathlessness 4 to 5 days. (Vitamin C, B complex, hot water gargle, oximeter, paracetamol, cylinder if severe, lot of liquid required, deep breathing exercise.
Monitor the oxygen level. If it goes near 43 (Normal 98-100), then you need an oxygen cylinder. If cylinder is available at home, no need to visit the hospital. Else, hospital admission is required.
