Soy Idli

Ingredients for Soy Idli

  • ½ cup soybean granules (soaked overnight)
  • ½ cup brown rice (soaked overnight)
  • pinch of jeera
  • ¼ cup curd
  • salt to taste


  1. Grind together soybean granules and brown rice with a pinch of jeera.
  2. Adjust the consistency of idli dough by adding curd.
  3. Add salt and keep the batter aside for 30-40 minutes.
  4. Steam the idlis in an idli maker.
  5. Serve with coconut chutney or Sambhar. For a variation, you may add a piece of ginger while grinding the soybean.
