This Monsoon Don’t Stick to Masala Chai! Try these Healthy Teas

Isn’t it boring to have the same masala chai daily? This season lets try out some new and interesting yet healthy teas.

1. Turmeric Ginger Tea

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 tbsp Ginger(Grated)
  • 1 stick Cinnamon
  • 1 tsp Ground Turmeric
  • 1/4 cup Lemon Juice
  • Honey (Optional)

Method:

  1. Add water in a pan and bring it to a boil.
  2. Add ginger, cinnamon and turmeric and simmer for 4-5 minutes.
  3. Switch off the heat and add the lemon juice.
  4. Add honey if you want.
  5. Sieve the tea and serve hot.

Health benefits of turmeric ginger tea:

It is good for the functioning of the heart and it also lowers the cholesterol levels.

The anti-inflammatory properties of ginger and turmeric are good for muscles as well as tissues.

2. Saffron Tea

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 tbsp Sugar
  • 2g saffron
  • 1/2 stick Cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ginger grated
  • 1-2 Lemon Wedges
  • 5-6 Mint Leaves

Method:

  1. Heat water in a pan and bring it to boil.
  2. Once the water starts boiling, add sugar, saffron, cinnamon, ginger, lemon wedges and mint leaves in the pan.
  3. Let the tea simmer for 5-7 minutes.
  4. Strain the tea and serve hot.

Saffron tea is a mood lifting, refreshing beverage which is full of anti-depressants.

3. Ginger Tea

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups Water
  • 1/2inch Ginger Crushed
  • 1 tsp Black Tea Leaves
  • 2 tsp Sugar
  • 3 tbsp Milk

Method:

  • Heat water in a pan.
  • Once the water comes to a boil, add ginger in it and let it boil for a minute.
  • Add tea leaves and sugar and boil for a minute.
  • Now add milk and let the tea boil for 1-2 minute.
  • Strain using a tea strainer and serve immediately.

4. Lemongrass Tea:

Ingredients:

  • 2-3 lemongrass stems
  • 2 cups Water
  • 1/2 lemon

Method:

  1. Take 2-3 stems of lemongrass and cut them into thin pieces after washing them thoroughly.
  2. Now put these pieces of lemongrass into boiling water & keep it till the color of the water changes.
  3. Refine it in another utensil.
  4. Add little bit of squashed lemon for tangy taste.

Lemongrass tea helps to fight cancer. It is basically extracted from lemongrass plant. Also known as fever grass and has long & thin leaves. Consuming this tea will provide freshness and relaxation.
