The human body secretes oils naturally but aging decreases that production significantly. Our skin needs oil to maintain a healthy balance else it gets too dry causing wrinkles, fine lines and breakouts. Applying a facial oil helps in keeping it moisturized along with protecting it from the environmental damage.

Some of them are discussed below:

1. Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is easily absorbed by the skin and is known to have many health benefits. Its anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties work great. It is also rich in vitamin E and K this makes it great especially for dry skin. Some of the other essential oils that are good for dry skin are lavender oil, sandalwood oil and chamomile oil.

2. Olive Oil

Also known as liquid gold, olive oil is rich in vitamins A, D, E, and K along with essential fatty acids which makes it a potential moisturizer. For the best results, one should opt for extra virgin olive oil. It protects skin from sun damage and aging. Olive oil is great for all skin types but is very beneficial for dry type.

3. Almond Oil

Many ancient ayurvedic and Chinese practices use almond oil for centuries to help soften the skin and heal wounds and cuts that were minor. There are 2 types of almond oil which are made, sweet and bitter. Sweet works well with skin as it has Vitamin A which helps in stimulating the growth of new cells and smoothen up the fine lines. It has Vitamin E that gives it antioxidant properties that help reduce UV damage. Omega 3 fatty acids prevent premature aging and protects from sun damage. Zinc present in almond oil helps the skin to heal acne and facial scars.

There are some essential oils like jojoba oil and marula oil that works very well for normal skin. For oily skin, marula oil along with tea tree oil is also good. Facial oil can also be mixed with moisturizer for daily use.
